Case study · Flour and atta

A friendly wordmark for fresh-milled atta, and the bags it goes on
Apni Chakki sells freshly milled atta. The logo sets 'apni' in green and 'chakki' in orange in rounded modular letters with a grain for a dot, inside a scalloped green frame. We designed the logo and built the packs from it: a 1 kg pouch, 5 and 10 kg bags, and the shop board.
The logo
“apni” in green, “chakki” in orange: rounded, modular letters with a grain where a dot would be, in a scalloped frame like an old shop label. We drew it as a vector, so it prints clean at any size.
A grain for a dot. Orange in the green “a”, green in the orange “c”.
The frame’s tip. The scallop becomes the border on the packs and the board.
- Green#2E7D46
- Orange#F4973A
- Wheat#E9D9B8
- Grey#333333
Four colours. Green and orange from the logo, a wheat ground and a grey for small type.

The packs
A 1 kg pouch and 5 and 10 kg bags. Wheat paper, a hand chakki drawn in the logo’s green, and a band that names the atta in English and Hindi: green for whole wheat, orange for multigrain.
These are pack designs. The back keeps a box for the FSSAI, MRP, batch and nutrition details, which come from Apni Chakki.

In two languages
Each pack names the atta twice, so it reads from across the shop in either script:
- Whole Wheat Attaगेहूं आटा
- Multigrain Attaमल्टीग्रेन आटा
At the mill
A 3 × 1 m board for the shop: the logo, the name in Hindi, and what is milled inside, in a scalloped border.
